Year 1 Class News

We are so excited to be back at school and learning with our friends again.

We have all been very busy in Year 1 as we learn new maths concepts such as place value and we continue to fly in our reading levels.

We have been playing a lot in our Year 1 dramatic play hospital and looking after lots of sick patients. We sure have some fabulous nurses and doctors in our class.

We have also been exploring creation in Religion and talking about the difference between enjoying and caring for God’s creation. We have all learnt that if we don’t care for everything God has given us, we are unable to enjoy it.

This includes being nice to ourselves and others as we explored our own features and created self-portraits to highlight our unique and beautiful faces in Visual Art.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of Term 2 has in store for us and we look forward to even more fun and learning in Year 1.

Lego Masters

The challenge for Round 3 was for the juniors to build a robot and the upper classes to build a boat that actually floats. Our winners for this round are:

PP-Y3 – Alannah from Year 3

Lego 1

Y4 – Y6 – Anneliese and Liam (Year 4 and 6)

Lego 2

Both were very creative and had a great story to match the build. Congratulations! Mr Tuohy will be in contact with you soon to receive your prize.

We have a new guest judge and challenge maker – Jack from Year 6. He is far too talented and will be providing the challenges with an actual model example. His challenges for next week are:

PP- Y3: Favourite animal

Y4 – Y6: Dream car or bus
